Study of the work environment in Spain

Summary

Work climate refers to the factors that make up the environment in which employees work and directly impact their well-being, motivation, and productivity. Some of these indicators are obvious, like the available resources or the conditions of office supplies; others are more abstract, such as company policies, salary, feedback, or communication.

This study delves into three of the most evaluated and important indicators in companies when assessing the work climate: salary, feedback from the supervisor, and organizational culture. For each of them, the results are included aggregated by age and gender.

The study used results obtained from work climate evaluations for some companies with more than 50 employees and from different sectors, such as industry, technology, or food. It's worth mentioning that these companies are already aware of the importance of having a healthy work climate and assess it periodically with Hrider in order to have objective data for improvement.

Salary

Salary is undoubtedly one of the most important aspects for any worker. When evaluating salary in a work climate diagnosis, employees are usually asked questions like: Do you consider your economic compensation fair according to your contribution? Does the salary match your skills and responsibilities? Do you think people receive an adequate salary? Are you satisfied with your remuneration?

The following graphs show the results obtained on a scale of 0 to 100 aggregated by age and gender:

Satisfaction with salary by age Population: 672 people
< 30 years: 96; Result: 46.56

Feedback

Feedback is the information we receive from our superiors, colleagues, and subordinates with the aim of providing us with data to learn, improve our performance at work, and even redefine the way we manage our organization.

Direct and continuous feedback from our supervisor includes activities ranging from mentoring in the early stages, to setting and communicating objectives, providing feedback on performance, evaluating improvement points, or communicating the organization's vision.

To assess the quality of the feedback received from our supervisor, employees are asked to rate questions such as: Do you receive regular feedback on your performance? How do you evaluate the feedback received for the work you do? Does your supervisor communicate your improvement points? Does your supervisor communicate your objectives clearly and concisely?

Analyzing the responses received, we have obtained the following total aggregated results by age and gender:

Level of Feedback with the supervisor by age Population: people
< 30 years: 96; Result: 72.92
between 30 and 53 years: 535; Result: 68.89

Organizational Culture

Organizational culture is the set of values, behaviors, and language that make up the environment of an entity. It determines how employees work and how they interact with each other, with clients, with suppliers, and with anyone external to the organization.

Well-maintained corporate culture turns the organization into a place that provides well-being and can determine, among other things, the effectiveness and speed with which tasks are carried out or the ease of adapting to changes.

When evaluating organizational culture, employees give their assessment on questions such as: Is there a sense of teamwork aligned with the values and culture of the organization? Do you feel represented and committed to the culture of the organization? Do you share the values, mission, and vision of the organization?

The following graphs show the total aggregated results by age and gender obtained from the study:
