An isotype is a graphic element or symbol that visually represents a brand without including its name or other textual elements. It is part of the visual identity and allows a company, product, or service to be identified through a graphic representation that can function independently.

Unlike a logotype, which is primarily based on the typographic representation of a brand name, an isotype does not use words. Its goal is to get the symbol associated with the brand so that it can be recognized on its own, even when the name of the organization does not appear.

Isotypes can take different forms, such as abstract symbols, figures, icons, or graphic representations related to the activity or values of an organization. To be effective, they must be recognizable, consistent with the brand's identity, and easily adaptable to different sizes and media.
