A logo, short for "logotype," is a graphic element that visually identifies and represents a company, organization, product, or service. It is part of a brand's visual identity and enables people to recognize and distinguish it from others.

Although in everyday language we use the word "logo" to refer to any graphic representation of a brand, technically the term refers to a representation based primarily on text or a typographic composition. When a visual identity uses only a symbol or combines a symbol with the brand name, other terms such as logomark or combination mark can be used.

In the corporate world, a logo helps build a cohesive and recognizable identity. Its use extends to all kinds of communication elements, websites, corporate documents, presentations, social media, marketing materials, and even physical spaces.
