Official Mexican Standard 035

NOM 035 is an Official Mexican Standard decreed by the Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS 2018), with the purpose of detecting severe traumatic events that employees of a company may have experienced and preventing psychosocial risk factors in them.

The results help companies prevent workplace accidents and illnesses, promoting safe and suitable work environments for the proper performance of tasks and functions associated with the positions.

This Standard must be applied in all workplaces within the Mexican national territory, taking into account the number of workers working in the workplace:

  • Workplace with up to 15 workers: obligation to apply Reference Guide I to detect severe traumatic events.
  • Workplace with 16 to 50 workers: obligation to apply Reference Guide I to detect severe traumatic events and Reference Guide II for the Identification and analysis of psychosocial risk factors.
