Work accident

According to current legislation, a work accident is an unplanned incident that causes injury to an employee -a worker- and/or property damage.
 
It is very common that, in any sector, people suffer an accident in the workplace, so it is very important to know the most common characteristics for an incident to be considered an accident at work:
  • That it happens along the usual route to the workplace, both on the way out and on the way back, and as long as it happens in the estimated time that the journey lasts. It will not be considered in itinere if, for example, it usually takes half an hour to go to work and the accident occurs two hours later.
  • Those that occur by order or spontaneously for the proper functioning of the organization.
  • The diseases contagious to the employee.
  • When an illness already suffered by the worker, is aggravated by his work performance.

Overexertion, falls, spinal injuries, stress, and repetitive motion are the most common workplace accidents.
