Escalation of Commitment Bias

It is a pattern, in which a person clings to a previous point of view, without considering the new evidence that refutes or changes it. As time goes by, the person clings on more and more to the old perspective of it, not realizing that it is becoming harmful.

For example, when we assess a person on a particular line, we are alarmed by a particular factor that we will later continue to believe is in future assessments, despite the fact that reality indicates that it has already been resolved.
